How To Take Good Photos Of Animals
If you love taking pictures of wildlife then this article will be sure to give you some helpful tips that you can start using today. Animal photography, also called wildlife photography, encompasses the entire world of animals from your pets to polar bears. This article focuses on photographing wildlife, but you can apply many of these tips to photographing Muffin or Fido. To learn how nature photographers get those fantastic images of wildlife, read on.
The basics for taking great wildlife pictures start with these tips. As always there are exceptions, but the following go a long ways towards ensuring successful animal photography:
* Use natural lighting to your advantage
* Fill the frame with the subject
* Focus on the eyes
* Shoot from various angles
* Capture personality
Perhaps you are wondering how you can, without a huge lens and SLR safely get close enough to a wild animal to “capture their personality” or “fill the frame”?
Actually even professional wildlife photographers don’t always take their winning photographs in the wild. Many of the photographs of polar bears, tigers and other wild creatures were taken at wildlife sanctuaries and zoos. Cheating? Maybe, but it’s safer for the photographer and doesn’t disturb their free roaming cousins’ mating and feeding cycles.
If you love taking pictures of wildlife then this article will be sure to give you some helpful tips that you can start using today.
Animal Photography Tips for Zoos and Sanctuaries
1) Simplify the Composition: If the background is distracting, use a wide aperture or Portrait mode to blur it. Or use a photo editor like Photoshop to clean up or blur the background.
2) Go Natural: Avoid showing cage bars, fences, humans, signs, etc. If it is safe and not against the rules, point the lens through the gap in the fence so you can take a picture without showing the fence. Sometimes there will be a vantage point that allows you to shoot over the top of the fence. Look for areas like these that are perfect for a photo. Again, use a good photo editing software to blur what you couldn’t get rid of while taking your picture.
3) Fill the Frame: Use zoom (optical for best quality) or a telephoto lens to get close ups.
4) Use Sports Mode: Use Sports mode or set shutter speed priority to around 1/250 to freeze movements.
5) Use Light and Weather to Best Effect: Overcast days are often best for animal photography. If the overcast isn’t too bright, it will prevent glare from light colored or watery backgrounds. If the overcast is too dark and you have an SLR, raise the ISO. With the right amount of overcast lighting, you can get well exposed sharp images with your compact camera without any of the animals squinting.
Since the eyes are usually the most expressive, they are generally the best place to focus so be patient in getting a picture of their eyes wide open and not squinting. Another way to avoid this problem is to take the picture when the animal’s back is to the sun. In this situation, you’ll need to use flash fill (turn off the automatic flash and set to “on”) to prevent underexposure or a silhouette. You will also need to wear a broad brimmed hat or use a lens hood to prevent lens flare.
6) Try this When Shooting through Glass: When you want a picture of a terrarium or aquarium critter, turn on the flash and shoot from an angle. Be sure to check your camera manual for the safe distance when taking pictures with a flash of any creature otherwise you could damage their eyes. Or turn off the flash and gently press your lens right up against the glass.
7) Plan your Visits for the Best Photo Ops: Many people will especially love seeing your animal photography when it includes baby animals. Often sanctuaries and zoos post on their websites when new babies are arriving, or you can call and check. Another great time to take pictures is during feeding time. Animals that stay in hiding throughout much of the day will come out to eat. Lastly, if you are going to a zoo or sanctuary when the weather is hot, always go early in the day as this will be when the animals are most active.
Use Context: While usually it’s best to fill the frame with the animal, sometimes the context is too interesting to bypass. Examples of using context include a child and baby animal looking at each other, or a giraffe bending down to look at something.
9) Capture Expressions: Animals, whether our pets or wildlife, make the cutest expressions. Be prepared with your camera! Even just normal expressions like a wolf pup yawning or a tiger licking its lips are cute or interesting. The more you understand the habits and behaviors of the animal you’re trying to take pictures of, the better chance you’ll have of capturing a great photo of them.
So, the next time you’re ready to take some wildlife pictures, use these animal photo tips and you’ll be amazed at the difference applying this tips can have on your photos.

Learning To Take Photos With Digital Photography
Learning digital photography is fun as you can see your results almost immediately. But if you’ve been born and raised with regular film photography, there are some differences you’ll need to learn about before you can start to make the most of your shiny new digital camera.
Don’t worry – they’re not major differences. But if you ignore them, you won’t be getting the most out of the modern technology that’s incorporated into even the simplest of digital cameras.
The first big contrast to the old world of taking a shot is in the time it takes to get results. No more waiting to finish the film, taking it to a photo lab and then waiting for the results. You can see the results instantly on the camera’s built in display.
Digital cameras come in all shapes and forms. Everything from the not-so-simple camera built into your cell phone, through to digital SLRs that offer everything you’d expect and more. Most will offer a zoom of some sort, but more of that later.
Unless you have a digital SLR camera, the first thing you’ll find is that your camera takes time to think. You press the button and it seems to go through a process of thinking “Oh, they want to take a photo. I’d better do something.” You’d expect this from the camera built into your telephone. After all, there are lots of other things you might be doing instead. But it’s not just cell phone cameras that exhibit this tendency.
With a purpose built camera, the shutter lag can get annoying. This shutter time lag is getting better with the more modern cameras but it still exists. If you’re likely to take shots that aren’t landscapes and aren’t party piece poses, then check the specification of your intended device. Or test it out in the shop before you buy so that you can see whether or not you’d get freaked by any delay.
The next thing to think about is the zoom. Taking shots with a zoom lens can be a really good way to take candid photos. Most digital cameras have a zoom built in. But the figures quoted are often slightly confusing. You’ll often see two different figures quoted: an optical zoom and a digital equivalent. What this means is that the optical figure is the same as you’d expect from a regular camera. But the digital one is the same as you taking a photo and blowing it up to a bigger size with your image editing software. The camera guesses (interpolates if you want the official term) what should go in the gaps where you’ve asked it to zoom beyond its optical capabilities.
Aside from that, you can get near enough any feature you like on your digital camera. The more features, the more money you’ll pay. So decide whether or not you really will be using things like ultra close up shots, night vision and whatever other add-on goodies your camera could potentially offer before spending your cash on them.
And remember to leave some money in your budget for some good photo editing software so you can easily edit your photos after you’ve taken them.

Sunset Photography Tips – How To Take Good Photos
Everyone loves looking at gorgeous sunsets, which is why sunset photography is so popular. If you want to take stunning sunset pictures, then here are some some simple techniques you can use to get photos that really stand out.
Sunset Photography Rule #1: Protect your Eyes and Camera
It is dangerous to your eyes and to your camera’s image sensor to point your camera directly at a bright yellow sun. Using a long lens or optical zoom will magnify the damaging effects. If you want to get a better picture (and play it safe), wait until the sun has fallen below the horizon or is a dark red color.
Sunset Photography Rule #2: Capture the Color
Ever run out the door to photograph a brilliant sunset but then after uploading to your computer wonder what happened to those saturated, bright hues? Usually the culprit is the camera’s automatic white balance. While your eyes can easily see the brilliant yellows, oranges, magentas and blues of a sunset, the camera’s automatic white balance works to dull down the bright colors to make them look more normal..The solutions are simple:
* If you have manual settings, turn off the auto white balance, and then set the white balance to the warm side.
* If your camera has a color lens setting or you are shooting with an SLR or DSLR, try some shots with the red filter selected or attached.
* Using a compact that doesn’t offer these manual settings? Really simple solution here: set it to sunset mode. You can use this for sunrises too. Sunset mode automatically sets the white balance to keep its color balance warm. Sunset mode also helps the camera use the best focus and exposure (with no flash) for this type of image.
* None of these apply to your camera? Use Landscape mode or auto, and then use photo editing software to adjust the white balance to reflect the brilliant colors you saw.
* You may also want to experiment with different exposure settings or use your photo editor to darken or lighten. Be sure to make changes on a copy of the original file- never the original!
* Sometimes a slower shutter speed will work better for sunset photos so if you do, make sure to use a tripod to steady your camera.
Sunset Photography Rule #3: Capture the Best Compositions
* Use basic landscape photography techniques and patience to create stunning sunset pictures.
* Not all sunsets make great photos. To get a remarkable sunset picture, you need an amazing sunset. Look for clouds, as they almost always make for more impressive sunsets. Sunsets with clouds are even more impressive over large bodies of water.
* Give yourself time to watch the sunset and wait for the really amazing pictures.
* Take your sunset photos in areas where you’re free from clutter or distractions like power lines and buildings (unless you intend to have the building as part of your photo).
* Compose your pictures with something in the foreground like a palm tree or boat to give the image context and scale. The sunset will usually create the silhouettes giving your picture more drama.
* If the sky is the most dramatic part of the sunset, compose your picture so that two thirds of it is filled with sky. If the reflection on water and silhouettes is the most captivating part of the pictures give this two thirds of your image’s real estate.
* Head to a beach where you’ll find some of the best sunset pictures. Here you can see the sun setting over the horizon, and your pictures will also get the benefits of the colorful reflections off the water. Other great places are the prairie or the desert where you can see the horizon and have extra color from the dust in the air.
This is all you need for succeeding at sunset photography so start using these tips and you’ll be happily surprised at the beautiful sunset pictures you’ll capture.

How To Take Stock Photo Images With Good Sales Potentials
Taking stock photo images that sell is not difficult at all. In my opinion, it is actually a lot easier than when I took photos that were artistic and had very complex meanings and messages woven within them. Stock photos that sell have usual characteristics within them. If you try to follow these characteristics your photos will most likely sell much better.
One of the main necessities for stock photos that sell is the quality of the picture. You must ensure that the photo is the highest quality you can get it at. Do not settle for less than your best. What I mean by this is that you need to make sure your photo is as perfect as you can get it and has flawless as possible. If your stock photo has errors it will not get accepted.
The technical aspects of stock photos are very difficult for the beginner. You must be sure your photograph is focused right and is as sharp as possible. An out of focus stock photo will not sell and you should not waste any time or money trying to fix it.
Lighting plays a major role in how great your stock photo looks. Be sure not to go cheap when lighting your photos. Take extreme care to ensure that the transition from light to dark areas of light on your photo are right.
Another very important part of stock photos is the noise. When you use larger ISO settings you will get more noise. It is NOT acceptable to submit your photos if they have a substantial amount of noise within them. Use photo editing software and get rid of that noise if possible.
Stock photos that sell are usually more simple than you think. One of the most selling photos on a popular stock photo agency is a picture of two hands shaking. The angle is a side shot showing both hands and the background is white. I can guess that if you’ve been taking photos for a couple weeks you could take a photograph just like this.
When taking stock pictures be sure that you are photographing a subject that is desired by people that buy stock photos. However, make sure that it is not too competitive unless you are able to compete and know how to do so. The best selling stock photos may be simple but they are precisely executed and nearly flawless.

#6: Maybe you would like to help the fight against crime and help other women to be safe! You can buy a wholesale package from me, of Non-Lethal, Self-Defense, Pepper Sprays and then re-sell them for cash profits in your area, as long as you are within the continental USA, are 18 or older, and are NOT in MA, MI, NY, or WI. These days, with crime always on the rise, more and more people (especially women) like the idea of carrying a self defense pepper spray, just in case, but since they are not sold on every street corner, that means “Big Earnings Potential” for You!
Most people will certainly buy these pepper sprays on impulse, on the spot, and will hand you fifteen or twenty bucks in cash! (I know because I sell them face to face every day in MY town!) They even make pepper sprays disguised as a woman’s lip stick! It’s a nice way to make money! Click Here To See Some Wholesale Package Deals! It’s a nice cash business!
“Take a chance! All life is a chance! The person who goes furthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare!” -Dorothy Carnegie

That’s okay; we are happy to sell any items that we feature on the website, but at wholesale prices and in small quantities! You can simply scroll through the website, and when you see a few things that you’d like to buy, just send us an e-mail and mention the items and quantities that you need, and we’ll get back to you with a price quote!
“If you risk nothing, then you risk everything.” -Geena Davis
#8: If you have a flair for writing, which many gals do, then you can either write resumes for people who need to find a job, and this can be done via the internet or to folks who live in your town! You can also type papers for college students who don’t have the time. You can also become a writer of articles that people will buy from you to use for the purposes of article marketing! Anybody with a website, and there are millions of them, needs articles badly!
I got started on this whole Making Money on the Internet Lifestyle in this way! I had been a published writer for over 32 years, but then I got a computer in September 2008 and I quickly discovered that so many people have websites of their own, and they needed someone to write new content, blogs, and articles on a daily basis! So, at first I started writing for people as a ghost writer! They would then post the articles on websites such as ArticlesBase.com, which is probably the best to use!
“The way you overcome shyness is to become so wrapped up in something that you forget to be afraid!” -Lady Bird Johnson
#9: Can you cook or bake? If so, then you might start a small catering service from home, or offer to cook meals for busy professionals and business people who don’t have the time or ability! You can even offer cooking lessons to others in your community! Or you can prepare a bunch of sandwiches and buy some soft drinks, fresh fruits, and bags of snacks, and begin your own lunch delivery route. You will want to find an office building or area where there are many workers who might not be able to get away for lunch. Be careful, as most areas will want you to obtain licenses for this sort of thing, but if you can find some places where nobody will care or turn you in…it could be awesome!
“Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows.” -Helen Keller
#10: You may want to start your own Money-Making Website where you offer a service or sell some merchandise! How To Take Better Digital Photos – Photography As An Artform
There are many forms of art and incredibly, photography is one of them. A couple of critics might argue that because the finished product has not been made by hand then it shouldn’t be considered an art. Stop and think about it, capturing a moment within a frame on a piece of equipment and knowing exactly when to shoot is art at it’s very best.
When it stops becoming an art is when people take it for granted and merely snap any old photo. Then they take it back and let their editing software get it to a reasonable composition and they’re satisfied with that. In this case, it is merely called taking a photo; it doesn’t come into the similar category as art.
To extend this concept if every other effort is put into taking the picture then this effort is carried over to the editing aspects of it. They’re not a separate entity. The photo is a creation and the photo editing soft-ware is a tool that helps in this region.
If an individual is new to digital editing software, they’ll learn to work with the fundamentals and usually are quite motivated with their achievements. Say at this point they extend their knowledge and really learn, what a few of the editing soft-ware is capable of they’ll be astonished at the outcome.
The fundamentals are the cropping, sharpening, adjusting the exposure and changing the colour for instance. A few of the more advanced techniques are cutting and pasting. Inserting objects within the photographs and creating a special piece of art. You could even take old images, scan them in to your computer, and edit them bringing forth a completely new picture.
You could even make storybooks with your photos. You could add text and even add pictures of your kids utilizing them as the focal point without them even being in the existing photo. What you’re doing here’s manipulating your photographs. A outstanding piece of software for this technique is the Adobe Photoshop. In all sense, photographers would utilise the term shoppe to refer to manipulated photos.
When youre trying to determine the best photo editing software you might want to think about downloading one of the free ones from the web first. Use these as your learning tools. Once you’ve mastered them then move on to one of the more advanced ones, which you will probably want to buy. Say you learn on the free ones, first you’ll have a great idea what you want to buy in the advanced version. You would not be spending cash on basics that you dont require. This could afford you a huge saving, because you will simply end up buying what you need.
It takes time to acquire good skills at digital editing, but you would harvest the benefits when you see your completed work. Between striving to take superior photographs and then editing, those to make them even better, you are bound to get the best from your photography efforts.
