An Ever-Changing Concept
The word architecture comes from the Latin word architectura which roughly translated, means master or chief builder. Today, the primary connotation of the term relates it to building structures, while secondary imports can pertain to the basic idea behind the building plan of any entity or organism. The ancient Roman architect Vitruvius was the first one to treatise about architecture as early as in the first century A.D. Correlating from his work, De architectura, the builder of a decent structure or a fine architect should be the one who sees that his creation conforms to the basic three tenets of durability– that is, it should remain good and strong for a long time, utility—that is, it should come of good utility for the people using it, and beauty—that is, its aesthetic plan should bring joy to the users and make them happy. The philosophy behind architecture has been molded later by approaches of rationalism, empiricism, structuralism, post-structuralism, phenomenology apart from various other philosophies, one of which was that of Louis Sullivan, the father of 19th century skyscrapers, who believed that form should always follow function. Delhi Master Plan 2021 ?New Concept For Delhi
The recent accident at a Delhi Metro construction site has led to a sudden spate of articles and debates in both the print and the electronic media. It seems that while we have gone ahead building flyovers and sea links, the basic problem of roads, drainage, water supply, electricity has remained unaffected.
Is this the right way to go about developing our cities? People are asking.
One cheeky commentator, replying to this question, said that question was not whether we were following the right model of development, rather whether we were following any model of development.
Now, how true is that?
As far as Delhi is concerned, though there is a Delhi Master Plan 2021, its implementation rests more on hope than on expectation.
Two of the earlier master plans, the Delhi Master Plan 2021 admits, had virtually no correlation with the actual development work that took place.
It says that before land could be developed it had to be acquired; this did not take place. Why? Because of paper work, the document says. This means that the land could not be acquired because the officials could not find a way to document the acquisition. A preposterous example of governmental red tapes, I have yet to come across.
But even if the plan is implemented, there would be a large lacuna still left, begging to be addressed. For example, the structural drawings of the Delhi Master Plans 2021 provide for a population of 230 lakhs, of which 153 lakhs are to be accommodated through ‘redevelopment’ of the current residential area.
This redevelopment, we are told, would take the form of people pooling in their housing areas to build multi-storey housing complex. The structural drawings for such a plan are a little confusing. The total area cannot be less than 3000 sq ft. How is such a large area to be put together? What would happen if, say, 9 out of ten people who need to pool in their house areas are ready but the 10th person is not?
The Delhi Master Plan 2021 does not provide for the rampant corruption that has beset the DDA, converting it from an organization involved in realizing a grand vision of urban development to one which is engaged in land grab.
The Delhi Master Plan 2021 also speaks, in high sounding words, of the necessary participation of private organizations. One cannot speak against such an excellent proposition. Private participation should be encouraged by all means. But is there a correlation between the cost at which such organizations would be supplied land – which is public land, mind you – and the cost at which they would provide housing to the poor? It is in such areas that one fears of a slip between the cup and the lip.
Another thing that anybody living in Delhi would fear, would be its transformation after the grand implementation of the Delhi Master Plan 2021 into a city resembling Gurgaon.
The Structural drawings for Gurgaon did not provide for corner stores, small kiosks, and spaces where traveling vendors could display their wares. As a result, one of the chief sources of liveliness of a city is completely missing in Gurgaon. It looks like an amalgam of corporate offices rather than an organic city.

The question of God’s existence has preoccupied men’s minds for many centuries. Those who believe in God seem to agree that the limited finite human intelligence cannot prove the existence of the infinite boundless God. It can only illustrate or demonstrate his existence to the satisfaction of the curious human mind. Those who deny God claim to rely on science, philosophy, or special theories of knowledge. Their arguments are sometimes inapplicable, sometimes irrelevant, always complex, and often incomprehensible. However, the developed mind will find its way to Allah. Failure to find the way does not mean that there is no way. Denial of reality does not make it unreal.
As we look around in our environments, we see that every family has a head: every school has a principal, every city or town has a mayor; every province or state has a premier/governor; and every nation has a head of state. Moreover, we know beyond doubt that every beautiful art is the creation of some great artist. All this is obvious, yet it does not satisfy the hunger for knowledge and the curiosity of man about the great things in the world. One often wonders at the beauties of nature with its scenic charm and marvels; the almost endless horizons in the sky and their far-reaching expansions; the ceaseless succession of day and night in the most orderly manner; the course of the sun, the moon, and the great stars; the world of animate and inanimate objects, the continuous process and evolution of man, generation after generation. One often wonders because one would like to know the maker and maintainer of all these things with which we live and which we immensely enjoy.
Can we find an explanation of the great universe? Is there any convincing interpretation of the secret of existence? We realise that no family can function properly without a responsible head, that no city can prosperously exist without sound administration, and that no state can survive without a chief of some kind. We also realise that nothing comes into being on its own. Moreover we observe that the universe exists and functions in the most orderly manner, and that it has survived for hundreds of thousands of years. Can we, then, say that all this is accidental and haphazard? Or can we attribute the existence of man and the whole world to mere chance? If man were to come into being by accident or by sheer chance, his entire life would be based on chance, and his whole existence would be meaningless, and no rational being would leave his existence at the mercy of fluctuating chance. Every reasonable human being tries to make his life as meaningful as possible and set for himself a model of conduct according to some design. Individuals, groups and nations do plan their course of action. And every careful plan produces some desired effects. The fact of the matter is that man does engage in planning of one sort or another, and can appreciate the merits of good planning.
Yet man represents only a very small portion of the great universe. And if he can make plans and appreciate the merits of planning, then his own existence and the survival of the universe must also be based on a planned policy. This means that there is a Designing Will behind our material existence, and that there is a Unique Mind in the world to bring things into being and keep them moving in order. The marvellous wonders of our world and the secrets of life are too great to be the product of random accident or mere chance. In the world, then there must be a Great Force in action to keep everything in order.
In the beautiful nature there must be a Great Artist who creates the most charming pieces of art and produces everything for a special purpose in life. This Force is the strongest of all forces, and this Artist is the greatest of all artists. The true believers and deeply enlightened people recognise this Artist and call Him Allah ( His True and Real Name ) or God. They call Him God because He is the Creator and the Chief Architect of the world, the Originator of life and the Provider of all things in existence. He is not a man because no man can create or make another man. He is not an animal, nor is He a plant. He is neither an idol nor is He a statue of any kind because none of these things can make itself or create anything else. He is not a machine. He is neither the sun nor is He the moon or any other star, because these things are controlled by a great system, and are themselves made by someone else. He is different from all these things, because He is the Maker and Keeper of them all. The maker of anything must be different from and greater than the thing which he makes. We also know that nothing can come to life on its own, and that the marvellous world did not create itself or come into existence by accident. The continuous changes in the world prove that it is made and everything which is made must have a maker of some sort.
The Maker and Sustainer of the world, the Creator of and Provider for man, the Active Force and Effective Power in nature are all one and the same, and that is known to be Allah or God. This is the secret of all secrets and the Most Supreme of all beings. The Holy Qu’ran, the True Book of God say’s: “Belief in God and His great power alone can provide mankind with the best Possible explanation of many mysterious things in life. This is the safest way to true knowledge and spiritual insight, the right path to good behaviour and sound morals, the surest guide to happiness and prosperity. Once man believes that God exists he must know His attributes and names. Generally speaking every perfection and absolute goodness belong to Him, and no defect or wrong applies to Him.
In specific terms, one should know and believe the following:
1. God is only One, has no partner or son, and neither gives birth, nor is He born. He is eternally besought by all and has no beginning or end, and none is equal to Him ( Holy Qu’ran )
2. He is the Merciful and the Compassionate, the Guardian and the True Guide, the Just and the Supreme Lord, the Creator and the Watchful, the First and the Last, the knowing and the Wise, the Hearing, and the Aware, the Witness and the Glorious, the Able and ‘ the Powerful. ( Holy Quran example )
3. He is the Loving and the Provider, the Generous and the Benevolent, the Rich and the Independent, the Forgiving and the Clement, the Patient and the Appreciative, the unique and the Protector, the Judge and the Peace. ( Holy Qu’ran example ) Each one of these names and attributes of God is mentioned in various places in the Holy Qu’ran. We all enjoy the care and mercy of God Who is so Loving and Kind to His creation. If we try to count His favours upon us, we cannot, because they are countless ( Holy Qu’ran ) God is High and Supreme, but he is very near to the pious thoughtful people; He answers their prayers and helps them. He loves the people who love Him and forgives their sins. He gives them peace and happiness, knowledge and success, life and protection. He welcomes all those who want to be at peace with Him and never rejects any of them. He teaches man to be good, to do the right and to keep away from the wrong. Because He is so Good and Loving. He recommends and accepts only the good and right things. The door of His mercy is always open to any who sincerely seek His support and protection. ( Holy Qu’ran )
The Love of God for His creatures is immense and beyond human imagination. We cannot measure or count His favours. He creates us and takes good care of us, not only from the time of our birth onward, but even long before that. He makes us in the best form of creation and gives us all the senses and faculties that we need for our growth. He helps us when we cannot help ourselves, and provides for us and for our dependents. He creates in man the mind to understand, the soul and conscience to be good and righteous, the feelings and sentiments to be kind and humane. By His mercy we gain true knowledge and see the real light. Because He is Merciful He creates us in the most beautiful shape and provides us with the sun and the moon, the land and the sea, the earth and the skies, the plants and the animals. He is the Creator of all these things and many others for our benefit and use. He makes things that are of service to us in this life, and gives man dignity and intelligence, honour and respect, because man is the best of all created things and is God’s viceroy on earth.
The mercy O god gives us hope and peace, courage and confidence. It enables us to remedy our griefs and sorrows, to overcome our difficulties and obtain success and happiness. Indeed, the mercy of God relieves the distressed, cheers the afflicted, consoles the sick, strengthens the desperate, and comforts the needy. In short, the mercy of God is active everywhere all the time in every aspect of our lives. Some people may fail to recognise it only because they take it for granted. But it is real and we can feel it with our hearts and appreciate it with our minds. The Loving Merciful God never forgets us or lets us down or ignores our sincere calls upon Him. By His Mercy and Love He has shown us the Right Way and sent to us messengers and teachers, books and revelations – all are meant for our help and guidance. The last Messenger from God is Muhammad ( SAW ), and the most genuine existing book of Allah is the Qu’ran. From the traditions of Muhammad ( SAW ) and the teachings of the Qu’ran, we learn about the Forgiving God. If a person commits a sin or does something wrong, then he is violating the law of God, committing a grave offence against God and abusing his own dignity and existence. But if he is sincere and wishes to repent, regrets his wrong deeds and wants to return to God, faithfully seeks pardon from God and honestly approaches him, then God will certainly accept him and forgive him.
The aforesaid discussion brings forth the following facts:
1) There is God. He is ONE.
2) He is the creator, sustainer and provider of this universe and there is no partners unto Him.
3) He is the One and the Only One who can guide us in the Right Path in all walks of our life. It is in following His guidance the success and salvation of man, Here and in the Hereafter lies, says the Qu’ran: “Allah Himself bears witness that there is no God but He and likewise do the Angels and the men possessed of knowledge bear witness in truth and justice that there is no God but He the Almighty the All-Wise”. ( 3: 18 Holy Qu’ran ) “Say, ‘God’s guidance is the ( only ) Guidance And we have been directed to submit ourselves to the Lord of the Worlds” ( 6: 71 Holy Qu’ran ) Now it is the duty of everyone of us to acknowledge Him, acquire the Knowledge of His guidance and lead a life of complete submission to His guidance. If We don’t we are the Only Losers Here, We Must hold on to the Rope Of Allah Firmly, and never let go.

Programs referred to as “automated cash gifting programs” are preying on people’s laziness. There is no such thing as automated cash gifting that guarantees to work get cash directly to you. When someone else handles your calls, referred to as “professional closers”, usually offered as part of the system, are most likely people in the same cash gifting program as you would be. This is an open opportunity for dishonest people to steal your cash gifts. Since you are the one who has worked hard to drive traffic to your website, spent your hard earned money on advertising, why would you consider entrusting anyone other than yourself to return your calls? This is one of the main reasons why automated cash gifting doesn’t work. Great Concept of Blogs – Power Blogging
Because the search engines index blogs very quickly, blogging can be a good way to get your company or product to a wider audience. There are two ways to do this, either closely align your blog with your product, or blog about the market your product serves and reference your product. For the first it makes a deal of sense to include either your company or major product name in the blog title and domain. In fact you could just install a blog in a sub-directory of your main website which would tie it in very closely with your company. Many web hosts now have a domain control panel which enable Word press blogs to be installed almost completely automatically. I would suggest Word press as suitable blog software as there are an enormous number of add-ons and plugins available to make your blog look and act exactly as you want. A second option would be to register a suitable domain, install Word press on it and go from there.
If you want to initially distance yourself from your product, then you might well find it easiest to register a blog with one of the major blog hosts and set yourself up as a special interest blogger. You may wish to do this to attract visitors who might not frequently visit your site but are interested in the markets you serve. If you sell wine for instance you could blog about wine in general and reference the special offers that you sell, maybe including short tasting notes. It might be beneficial to come clean about your association in an About Me page, as being professionally involved in a specific market adds a certain authority to what you write. It would be clear to frequent visitors that you only mention one company but they would have initially been attracted by the content, and would most likely continue to visit as long as the content is valuable to them.
The important thing about doing it this way is that your content should hold up regardless of your promotion of your product otherwise you won’t get visitors returning.
Blogging for pleas if anything this is the most rewarding way to blog. Writing about something you have a passion for is most likely to get visitors who share the same passion and can grow a community as you link to other blogs which have the same focus. If you leave the comments turned on, you will get visitors posting their replies to you which can help you gauge reaction to your opinions. But beware, you may not always like what people say about you! It’s not compulsory, but you may also be able to make a little money from Adsense or affiliate sales as long as you don’t overdo the adverts because you will have a much targeted audience reading the blog.
Whether you are blogging for business or pleasure, the important things to remember are: Write in your own style, don’t try and copy anyone else.
Use original content. You can use other material, but make sure you are not breaking copyright and add your own content… Pace yourself. Don’t start out intending to post every day if you don’t have the time.

If you want to allow access only to members of your institution, you can host your own password-protected iTunes U site. This enables you to create and manage the content available on the site, while controlling who can access and download resources from it.
Because administrative access is integrated with Apple ID, it’s easy to set up and manage your site, and you can add more Apple ID accounts to share site management responsibilities. Or you can integrate with your identity management systems to scale out management and access to hundreds or thousands of users. By default, iTunes U supports Shibboleth (the standards-based, open source authentication system), or you can create customized transfer scripts to integrate with popular authentication systems, including Kerberos, LDAP, Active Directory, and others. Apple also provides templates you can customize with your own branding, and you can use tools such as RSS to easily add and remove content. To ensure compatibility, the media you provide should be in: AAC, MP3, MPEG-4, or PDF format.

You also have the option of making your course material available to all iTunes visitors — alongside content created by other institutions. External sites are also a great recruitment tool, offering an inexpensive way to explain the benefits your institution has to offer. With an open iTunes U presence, your institution will gain recognition, and a competitive edge, as you reach out and share your knowledge with the world. Media should be in AAC, MP3, MPEG-4, or PDF format. As with internal sites, administrative access is controlled via Apple ID, and you can add more accounts to share site management responsibilities. Apple templates let you incorporate your own branding, and you can request browse/search integration to make it easier for visitors to find your content on iTunes and to extend the reach of the content you post. External iTunes U sites are not just available to universities. Many museums, public broadcasting stations, and state education organizations also make education content available to the world through iTunes U in the iTunes Store.
Some academic institutions have made a Mix of Both
Many schools choose to create both an internal site with a greater amount of course materials available exclusively to enrolled students with a user account and password; and an external site that provides a publicly accessible subset of those resources.
